Venezuela condemns new US Executive Order against the National economy

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela expressed its deepest rejection for the promulgation of a new Executive Order by US President Donald Trump, which limits the sale of debt and public assets in the United States, as part of the financial blockade against the country.

The measure was adopted after the results of the Presidential elections of May 20, in which the current Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, was re-elected with 6.1 million votes.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela repudiates and strongly condemns the promulgation of a new Executive Order of the President of the United States of America, Donald Trump, on May 21, 2018, with which it intends to extend new unilateral and arbitrary coercive measures, which intensify the criminal financial and economic blockade against Venezuela, in flagrant violation of International Law.

Venezuela condemns, once again, the systematic campaign of aggressions and hostilities of the US regime that seeks to punish the Venezuelan people for exercising their sacred and legitimate right to vote, through illicit and illegitimate measures that try to expand the economic and financial siege against our Homeland, to break the right to self-determination of our people and to undermine its model of socioeconomic development.

We alert the international community to the threat to world peace represented by the supremacist, racist and interventionist regime that governs Washington today, inspired by the nefarious postulates of the Ku Klux Klan, and that promotes hatred, intolerance and political lynching and against the dignified people of Venezuela.

These arbitrary and unilateral measures constitute a crime against humanity and impede Venezuela’s right to development and hinder access to essential goods of the population. The US Government instrumentalizes the needs of the Venezuelan people as a political weapon to attack the Venezuelan institutions and the stability of the Republic, and in this way, promote the overthrow of the Head of State, President Nicolás Maduro, within the framework of the imperial doctrine of regime change.

The Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela reiterates its rejection of these illicit measures, and calls on the Government to desist from violating the purposes and principles of the Charter of the United Nations and the norms of international law, and through relationships of respect and bilateral diplomatic dialogue,. Venezuela, worthy heir of the Liberator of America, Simón Bolívar, will defend with iron will the epic victory waged by the Venezuelan people by re-electing, in its own right, President Nicolás Maduro in the country’s first magistracy.
