The president of the Association of Victims of the Coup d’Etat (2002), Édgar Márquez, demanded the President of the United States, Donald Trump, to break the economic blockade promoted by sectors of the international right wing against Venezuela through the financial and commercial sector.
“Break the economic and financial blockade that you have against our Homeland, that allows us to acquire the goods that our population needs”, exclaimed this Thursday during the session of the National Constituent Assembly that discussed on Thursday the Coup d’ Etat of April 2002.
Similarly, he asked the Public Prosecutor’s Office to open an investigation to evaluate the role played by private media in these events by creating false positives that justify the insurectional actions.
“The media have not been sanctioned, and we demand the Public Prosecutor’s Office to open that investigation”, he said.
He also called for popular participation during the elections on May 22 as a demonstration to Venezuelan democracy.
“We call on all the Venezuelan people to support President Nicolás Maduro on May 20,” he said.
