President Maduro announced restructuring of PDVSA

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced on Sunday the restructuring of Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) to eradicate practices that affected the nation’s heritage.

During his TV program “Los Domingos con Maduro” (Sundays with Maduro), he reported that on Tuesday 28 will sign with workers in the sector a plan to recover the main oil industry in the country.

“I say to the oil working class: you are there to save, to magnify, to protect that powerful industry, which will never be privatized. That’s why I say: cleanliness in PDVSA, the time has come for a new oil and gas revolution”, he said.

He indicated that the Bolivarian Government has undertaken an important fight against corruption.

For such restructuring, the National President appointed Manuel Quevedo as the new President of PDVSA and Minister for Petroleum.

Quevedo thanked the appointment through his Twitter account, and added that PDVSA will be “the sacred temple” of Venezuelans.

“We are going to put PDVSA as the sacred temple of the people, of our youth, of families and good workers. We are going to build socialist and Bolivarian Venezuela. We will live and we will conquer”, he said.
