ANC approves parliamentary immunity acquiescence to Freddy Guevera

This Monday, in an extraordinary session held by the National Constituent Assembly, was approved by the constituent majority the decree of acquiescing to parliamentary immunity to deputy Freddy Guevara.

Let’s remember that the leader of the Voluntad Popular party was linked to the “guarimbas” (riots) that undermined the peace of the country between the months of April and June of this year, leaving as a result a balance of 124 people killed.

“We are defending Venezuela’s peace, sovereignty and independence,” said the Chairwoman of the ANC, Delcy Rodríguez.

She rejected Freddy Guevara’s position of requesting an international intervention to the country, in addition to his vocation to alter public order and his support for violent and street actions.

“Today we are not afraid to defend our country. The Supreme Court of Justice will continue with the prosecution of citizen Freddy Guevara”, she said.

She asserted that this right-wing deputy is involved in the crime of using children and adolescents to incur the instigation of hatred, sanctioned by Venezuelan laws.

It is important to highlight that in this extraordinary session the National Constituent Assembly presented a video as proof of the connection of this deputy of the Venezuelan extreme right wing with the acts of violence perpetrated in the so-called “guarimbas”.
