Venezuela suffered 4 months of violence aimed at overthrowing the Government

The Venezuelan Foreign Minister, Jorge Arreaza, said on Monday that Venezuela suffered 4 months of violence led by various national and international political factors aimed at overthrowing the Government of President Nicolás Maduro.

“The people of Venezuela are subject to permanent aggression by hegemonic powers seeking to seize our natural resources”, he said.

Since his participation in the 72nd general assembly of the United Nations (UN) in New York, he detailed that the attacks have “included the induced generation of domestic politics violence by factors that have tried to come to power by the non-democratic way since the 2002”.

He explained that the Venezuelan people have suffered “multiform attacks against our economy, our currency and production capacity”.

The Minister pointed out that after the tension and pain caused by the unjustified deaths, the violence of the opposition was neutralized and appeased by the great democratic and popular demonstration of July 30, in which more than 8 million Venezuelans went to vote for peace and to elect a National Constituent Assembly.
