The President of the ANC, Delcy Rodríguez, reported that the highest instance of the Original Constituent Power received a communication from the Head of State, Nicolás Maduro, requesting the cases (of political violence) brought before the military jurisdiction to be declined before the ordinary jurisdiction.
“We will immediately execute this request, implementing it through the Commission for Truth”, said Rodríguez.
She stated that this request by the President is made for the sake of peace and public tranquility.
She recalled that the inaction of the Public Ministry, led by Luisa Ortega Díaz, during the months of political violence promoted by the opposition, caused that military jurisdiction had to supply “in an unorthodox way”.
Finally she thanked the military jurisdiction for the care of due process and the guarantee of human rights.
