Zamora Command delivered to CNE modification of electoral bases for Constituent Assembly


The Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Tareck El Aissami, representing the Zamora 200 Command, delivered on Monday to the rector of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Tibisay Lucena, the modification of the electoral bases for the National Constituent Assembly (ANC).

The proposal includes the making of a referendum in order to approve the new constitutional text that generates that mechanism of the original power.

After the release, the leader of the Strategy and Propaganda Front of the Zamora 200 Command, Jorge Rodríguez, stressed that this improvement will strengthen the deep foundations of true democracy, peace and dialogue in the country.

“This amendment consists of a single article, and in that article is exhorted to the National Assembly, duly elected, therefore proclaimed and installed next July 30, to submit to an approving referendum the draft Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela that may arise from its bosom”, he said.

Speaking to the press, Rodríguez pointed to a record in Venezuela’s electoral history, which is the registration of 55,000 people as pre-candidates in both modalities (territorial and sectoral) to form the ANC.

The Constituent Assembly will be composed of 364 territorial and 181 sectorial constituencies, which will be distributed as follows: by the workers sector there will be selected 79 representatives; by Peasants and fishermen, 8; by Businessmen, 5; by the Pensioners, 28; by Persons with disabilities, 5; by the Students, 24; by the Communal councils and communes, 24; and by the indigenous peoples, will be elected 8 people.
