President Maduro congratulates the African Union on the democratic renewal of its authorities


The Chancellor of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, through her Twitter account @DrodriguezVen, posted a statement in which President Nicolás Maduro Moros congratulated the African Union for the democratic renewal of its authorities.

COMMUNIQUÉ:

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, on behalf of the Venezuelan Government and the People, congratulates the African Union for the democratic renewal of its authorities, in full exercise of the duties and rights conferred by the Peoples of Africa.

Venezuela, as an observer country, welcomed the election of His Excellency Alpha Condé, President of the Republic of Guinea, to the Pro-Tempore Presidency of the highest African body; His Excellency Mr. Moussa Faki Mahamat, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Chad, as Chairman of the African Union Commission; and Ambassador Thomas Kwesi Quaerey of the Republic of Ghana, as Vice-President of the African Union.

The Government of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and its people are convinced that the African Union will continue the path of regional integration and international cooperation for the benefit of all the peoples of the South.
