NAM celebrates decision of the US Government to commute sentence of Óscar López Rivera


The Non-Aligned Countries Movement (NAM) welcomed the decision of the US Government to commute the sentence of the political prisoner Óscar López Rivera,

This was reported on Wednesday by the Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Affairs, Delcy Rodriguez, in her Twitter account, @DrodriguezVen.

The NAM also reaffirmed “The right of the people of Puerto Rico to self-determination and independence,” as she made known through a communiqué.

On Tuesday, the US Government announced the release of López Rivera, who was imprisoned for 36 years in this North American country, for his fight after the independence of Puerto Rico.
