Venezuela reiterated UN to designate Good Officer to settle dispute over the Essequibo

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, held on Monday a meeting with the Secretary General of the Organization of the United Nations (UN), Ban Ki-moon, to whom he reiterated the position on the importance of the Good Officer, to contribute to mediate between the Governments of Venezuela and Guyana for the settlement of the territorial dispute regarding the Essequibo.
The information was released by the Minister for Foreign Affairs, Delcy Rodríguez, who in her official Twitter account wrote that at that meeting «Were exchanged views on candidates for the Good Officer under the Geneva Agreement, a legal instrument governing the territorial dispute» .
The meeting was held in Cartagena de Indias, Colombia, where the Head of State participated in the acts of signing the Final Agreement for the Termination of the Conflict and the Building of a Stable and Lasting Peace, which was finally materialized between the Government of Colombia and the Revolutionary Armed.
