PDVSA reports reaching 1.2 million barrel target and projects increase for 2026

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Delcy Rodríguez, announced that Petróleos de Venezuela (PDVSA) has reached the production target of 1.2 million barrels of crude oil per day, as planned for the current year, within the framework of the Productive Independence Plan. Simultaneously, she announced the beginning of a new stage in regional gas distribution, with the first official export destined for the Republic of Colombia.

Vice President Rodríguez attributed the production achievement to the efforts of the working class. Through her official channels, she stated that this result constitutes «the best Christmas present» for the Venezuelan people, recognizing the performance of a workforce that, according to her statement, faces and overcomes «the imperial harassment, hostilities, and illegality.»

Consequently, the fulfilled goal is presented as a milestone in the recovery of national productive capacity and in the consolidation of a sovereign energy model. This achievement lays the foundation for the expansion strategy projected by the state-owned company, which includes new and higher production targets for 2026, aimed at increasing extraction capacity and guaranteeing supply stability.

Regarding regional integration, the first gas export to Colombia marks a significant step in energy foreign policy. This action strengthens bilateral ties and, at the same time, opens up a range of opportunities to expand cooperation with other neighboring nations, diversifying markets for Venezuelan resources.

Furthermore, she concluded her message by reaffirming the commitment to the strategic direction of the Government. «Nothing and no one will stop us! Together with the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, we will continue our victorious path of honor and national dignity,» she assured, projecting continuity in the path of recovery and sovereignty of the hydrocarbon sector.

Finally, the official announcement combines a concrete technical achievement with a geopolitical vision of integration. Meeting the annual production target and beginning gas exports position PDVSA in a new phase, characterized both by the consolidation of domestic production and a strategic focus on the regional market.
