The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, issued a strong call demanding an end to illegal interventionism in Venezuela and Latin America. During a speech commemorating the 166th anniversary of the Battle of Santa Inés, the President raised his voice against regime change policies promoted from abroad.
«From Venezuela, we demand an end to the illegal and brutal interventionism of the United States government in Venezuela and Latin America,» manifested President Maduro firmly. His message included an explicit rejection of the practices of coups d’ etat and invasions that have marked the contemporary history of various nations.
The head of state broadened his criticism of US military interventions globally, listing conflicts that have left deep scars: “No more Vietnam, no more Somalia, no more Iraq, no more Afghanistan, no more Libya, enough of endless wars, damn it, enough of imperial wars, enough of imperial massacres!” he exclaimed during his address to a crowd gathered at the Great Commemorative March.
In the historical context of the Battle of Santa Inés, where the people defeated the oligarchy in 1859, the Venezuelan Head of State linked that victory to contemporary resistance. He emphasized that Venezuela maintains a firm stance against any attempt at domination, stating: “We are in the right, and this homeland belongs to the noble, sovereign, and valiant people of Venezuela.”
The President stressed the national determination to defend the sovereignty achieved, sending a clear message to the world about the unwavering will of the Venezuelan people. “This Homeland will never be colonized by any empire,” he declared, reaffirming the commitment with independence and self-determination.
With these statements, the Venezuelan government reiterates its stance against the US foreign policy, strengthening the discourse of resistance and sovereignty that has characterized its management on the international stage.
