The Venezuelan ambassador to Lebanon, José Gregorio Biomorgi, met with his Iranian counterpart, Mojtaba Amani, at the Iranian diplomatic mission in Beirut to strengthen the strategic alliance between the two nations. This meeting is part of the ongoing process of consolidating bi-regional cooperation to address international challenges.
During his welcoming remarks, Ambassador Amani emphasized that this meeting «aligns with the shared strategic vision that unites our two republics.» The Iranian diplomat reviewed the historical roots that bind both peoples, noting Iran’s admiration for Latin American liberation movements.
«The Islamic Revolution has been inspired by the experiences of Latin American struggle and its immortal heroes, such as Simón Bolívar, Ernesto ‘Che’ Guevara, and Salvador Allende”, stated Amani. The diplomat reiterated that Iran is putting «all its capabilities and experience at the service of developing relations with Venezuela,» based on solidarity between the two peoples.
For his part, Ambassador Biomorgi expressed his gratitude for the warm welcome and affirmed that «Venezuela and Iran represent models of independent countries that have faced international pressures.» He warned against destabilization attempts driven by the «old system of domination» that seeks to seize the strategic resources of both nations.
The Venezuelan head of mission highlighted national unity and the «strongest popular-military fusion ever» under the leadership of President Nicolás Maduro. He quoted Commander Hugo Chávez’s phrase, «Unity, struggle, battle, and victory,» stating that this motto is deeply rooted in the DNA of the Venezuelan people.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the parties agreed to maintain ongoing constructive communication, reaffirming that their bilateral relations represent «a unique model of strategic partnership» based on mutual respect and the defense of national rights and interests.
