The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, called on the Venezuelan people to participate in the fourth Popular, Neighborhood, and Communal Consultation of 2025, to be held on Sunday, November 23. Through his official account on Telegram, the Head of State urged the population to prepare for this important democratic process.
The president emphasized that this electoral day «must be a deep debate with the community,» highlighting the growth and coordination of grassroots structures of the People’s Power: «The communes are already growing. Many communal circuits are now coordinated,» he noted regarding the progress of these community organizations.
He explained that from now until election day, there will be an intense period of «motivation, mobilization, propaganda,» and, fundamentally, «debate on the proposals.» He emphasized that this exchange of ideas should be inspired by the experiences of the elections of 2024 and what has been developed during the present year.
«The debate on the proposals must be open; it has to be a debate with the community,» stressed the president, urging a deep and meaningful discussion process. The task consists of «motivating, debating, lobbying, expanding, knocking on doors, and convening» to guarantee maximum citizen participation.
The head of state defined this process as the materialization of a unique model of participation: «neighborhood democracy, the democracy of the residents, community democracy, our 21st-century democracy.» He emphasized that the strength of this model lies in the awareness and organization of the people.
Finally, he stressed that the Venezuelan people is called upon “to exercise the most advanced democracy on planet Earth» in this upcoming Neighborhood and Communal Popular Consultation, reaffirming the fundamental value of a people who are «educated, cultured, conscious, patriotic, brave and empowered.»
