The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced the development of the first space satellite built entirely by Venezuelan scientists. The announcement was made during the closing ceremony of the First International Space Congress, organized by the Ministry for Science and Technology in Caracas.
The Head of State instructed the Minister for Industry and National Production, Alex Saab, to provide strategic support for this technological project. The initiative is part of the celebration of the 18th anniversary of the Bolivarian Agency for Space Activities (ABAE), representing a significant advance in the country’s technological sovereignty.
This project symbolizes a fundamental step in consolidating national scientific and technological capabilities. It also reflects the Venezuelan State’s commitment to local talent and innovation as drivers of sovereign development.
The International Space Congress served as a platform to showcase Venezuela’s advancements in space exploration. This setting allowed for the demonstration of the progress achieved through eighteen years of continuous work by ABAE in developing its own space technologies.
