The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced before the international community the dismantling of a destabilization plan attributed to the United States Central Intelligence Agency (CIA). The operation aimed to attack US ships in order to then frame Venezuela and justify a military aggression.
The Venezuelan head of state exposed this imperialist strategy designed to sow chaos in the Caribbean region: «Imperialism comes and sows discord, intrigue, and hatred to put neighboring peoples, peoples who have lived together peacefully all their lives, against each other,» stated the President. The Venezuelan leader detailed the «modus operandi» of the plot uncovered by the Bolivarian intelligence. In this regard, he explained that the CIA itself «was going to attack US ships» and then blame Venezuela “if an American ship was shown exploding in the waters of Trinidad and Tobago.»
The ultimate goal of this operation, according to President Maduro, was to create a pretext to justify «an escalation and a confrontation between brotherly nations.» The maneuver sought to strain relations between Venezuela and its neighbors and create conditions for a military intervention. The head of state confirmed that the operation was dismantled thanks to the capture of mercenaries and an exhaustive search in the eastern part of the country.
«Our Intelligence and Counterintelligence bodies have once again been successful and have defeated the CIA’s macabre plan,» celebrated the Dignitary. This denounce seeks to warn about maneuvers aimed at putting Venezuela against neighboring countries. The success in dismantling this plan represents a victory for the security agencies of the Venezuelan state against international destabilization operations.
