The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, revealed the success of the Independencia 200 Coastal Defense Exercise, carried out to strengthen the country’s coastal protection. The deployment mobilized the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB), the Bolivarian Militia, and police forces in response to constant imperialist threats.
The Commander-in-Chief explained that the order was issued in the midnight hours, immediately activating all military forces and equipment. The deployment covered strategic points «from states Zulia to Sucre,» covering the entire Venezuelan coast in record time.
By 9:00 a.m, military authorities reported 100% coverage of the country’s coastline. The operation included the deployment of heavy and anti-aircraft weapons at 73 central points, each with 10 subsequent tactical deployment points.
The president attributed this operational success to the military equipment acquired through the sovereignty policy: «The entire heavy weapons equipment that President Hugo Chávez purchased for the country,» he emphasized, thanking international cooperation with Russia, China, and other allies.
He denounced 10 weeks of imperialist threats of psychological warfare against Venezuela. In response, he stated that the response has been “a patriotic fervor that we have never seen in Venezuela, perhaps since the times of Cipriano Castro.»
The exercise will remain active for 72 hours to consolidate operational readiness at all defense points. This measure reaffirms the Bolivarian doctrine of the People’s War and sends a strong message about Venezuela’s determination to defend its sovereignty.
