Vice President Rodríguez: Venezuela reaffirms its commitment to a more equitable oil market

The Executive Vice President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Minister for Hydrocarbons, Delcy Rodríguez, actively participated in the 62nd Meeting of the Joint Ministerial Monitoring Committee of OPEC and OPEC+, held via videoconference. During the meeting, the authorities reviewed in detail the most recent actions implemented in the global oil market by the member countries that are part of the Declaration of Cooperation.

The ministerial meeting allowed for an integral evaluation of crude oil production data for the months of July and August 2025, as well as monitoring compliance with the production adjustments previously agreed upon during the thirty-eighth ministerial meeting of OPEC and OPEC+ member countries. This monitoring is essential to maintaining the stability of the global energy market.

Venezuela categorically reaffirmed its commitment to the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries to maintain, despite trade tensions, geopolitical challenges, and unilateral sanctions, an oil market characterized by equity and justice. This stance seeks to directly benefit the peoples of the world and to coherently adapt to the ongoing energy transition.

As a founding member of OPEC, the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela declares its full commitment to the stability and balance of the global energy market. The South American nation reaffirms its active and leading role in defending oil sovereignty and promoting consensus in the international energy arena, especially given the current uncertainties of the global economy.

The participation of Vice President Delcy Rodríguez in this important international meeting demonstrates the consistency of Venezuelan foreign policy on energy matters. Venezuela maintains its historical position of working for stable oil prices and defending the interests of producing countries, in the face of the constant challenges presented by the current geopolitical scenario.

Venezuela’s position in OPEC+ reflects its unwavering commitment to the principles of solidarity and cooperation among oil-producing nations, as well as its ongoing search for mechanisms to collectively address the volatility of the international oil market. This strategy aligns with the vision of a more just and balanced world energy order.

Venezuela’s active participation in OPEC and OPEC+ forums demonstrates the importance the country places on coordinated work among oil-producing nations to ensure the stability of the global oil market, benefiting both oil-producing and oil-consuming countries worldwide.
