President Nicolás Maduro called on the international media to show the world the peaceful policy that governs the country. The president used his account on Telegram to convey this message and request an ethical effort of the dissemination of the true Venezuelan reality.
He affirmed that Venezuela is inherently a peaceful country, and emphasized that what the nation has achieved has not been a gift, but rather the result of a great battle currently underway: the battle for truth. The stated objective of this struggle is to win and, above all, preserve the peace that characterizes the nation.
However, the President noted that this state of peace is permanently threatened. He specifically referred to the United States (U.S.) naval deployment in the Caribbean Sea, which represents a hostile action that puts the country’s stability and tranquility at risk.
In this context, the head of state emphasized that Venezuela is exercising its legitimate right, protected by international law and the national Constitution, to prepare to defend its peace. He described the United States’ actions as aggression manifested on multiple levels: political, with threatening statements; diplomatic; and military.
The presidential request underscores the importance of the communications battle to counter false narratives. He urges the media to become spokespersons for the nation’s pacifist agenda and to disseminate the truthful story the world needs to know about Venezuela.
