President Maduro confirms Chevron’s return and increase of 12% in oil production

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, confirmed the return of the US Chevron oil company to the country, after obtaining the necessary operating licenses. During an interview on TeleSUR, the president emphasized that the company had received the corresponding authorizations and welcomed all international firms wishing to invest in the country.

President Maduro emphasized that, despite the economic pressures and sanctions imposed by the United States, Venezuela managed to increase its oil production by 12% through its own efforts: «We don’t need a license to produce; we have learned our own way,» he stated, highlighting the resilience of the national energy sector in the face of coercive measures.

The Venezuelan government reported that working groups are already underway to facilitate Chevron’s reintegration into its operations in the country. The president emphasized that, even during the period in which the company was paralyzed by sanctions, the wells it managed jointly with the Venezuelan government continued to increase their production without hindrance.

The president took the opportunity to invite more US investors to consider Venezuela as a safe destination for their oil, gas, and petrochemical businesses. «Come to Venezuela, where we work seriously and legally,» he said, highlighting the opportunities in the energy sector.

The president congratulated Chevron executives on their return and expressed his hope that the company, with more than a century of presence in Venezuela, will continue operating smoothly: «I want you to have 100 more years in the country,» he stated, reiterating his welcoming message.

With this announcement, Venezuela reinforces its commitment to the recovery of its oil sector, attracting investment and demonstrating its capacity for growth even in a context of international sanctions.
