The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced this Wednesday the prompt implementation of an ambitious Preventive Health Plan focused on the physical and mental health of the Venezuelan population.
During a workday at the General University Hospital of Higuerote, in Miranda state, the head of state discussed the plan’s fundamental pillars: reducing the use of digital devices, promoting healthy habits, including conscious eating, natural medicine, and regular physical activity, and focusing on mental health with the creation of therapeutic social groups and spaces for conversation:
«We will promote fewer screens and more human interaction between family and society,» added the president, who placed special emphasis on the need “to rescue the values of traditional medicine and regular exercise» as a mechanism to prevent diseases, especially kidney diseases. «True health begins with prevention and self-care,» he explained.
This program is framed within the policy of primary care developed by the National Government, seeking to create a culture of integral well-being that prioritizes quality of life over curative treatment: «We want a population that values and protects their health before getting sick,» concluded the President.
