President Nicolás Maduro emphasized this Thursday that a military career represents an oath of loyalty to the homeland, during the promotion ceremony for the Professional Military Personnel of the Presidential Honor Guard (GHP) and the General Directorate of Military Counterintelligence (DGCIM), held in Fort Tiuna, Caracas.
“A promotion in military service is not only a recognition of merit, but also a dedication to a sacred cause: the defense of the sovereignty and greatness of Venezuela,” expressed the president in a message spread through his social media channels. Addressing the 14,236 promoted professionals, he extended his congratulations: “Each one of you embodies the spirit of discipline and love for the homeland that forged our independence.”
The head of state, who described himself as a «working-class president and commander-in-chief of the people,» emphasized his pride in the formation and character of the Bolivarian National Armed Forces (FANB). «Our soldiers are the invincible shield of the nation, heirs to a liberating legacy that illuminates the entire Americas,» he added.
The ceremony closed with a moving greeting to the military community: «My recognition and blessings to the great Venezuelan military family, a pillar of peace and national dignity.»
