Venezuela’s exports went from 6 to 50 seafood products despite the economic war

The People’s Power Minister for Fisheries and Aquaculture, Juan Carlos Loyo, reported this Monday that Venezuela went from exporting 6 to 50 seafood products, despite the economic war imposed by US imperialism and its international allies.

During the “Con Maduro+” program, he indicated that among the products sold outside the country’s borders are blue crab, shrimp, and sardines, products that boast high quality, high nutritional levels, and competitive prices, and that reach more than 33 destinations worldwide:

After leading the battle against the economic war, the enthusiasm of the business sector, and the leading role of our fishermen and women, the fishing sector has more than 50 species being exported,” he said before highlighting the success of these products at the Türkiye: Made in Venezuela 2025 Expo-Fair.

He emphasized that this allows Venezuela to develop an economy that exports non-traditional products, generating employment, wealth, economic growth, and, above all, overcoming the devastating effects of sanctions and the blockade.

La Guaira exported 120 tons of fish:

The governor of La Guaira state, José Alejandro Terán, took the opportunity to mention that, in partnership with the private sector committed to Venezuela, a fish processing plant was created, which has managed to export 120 tons of fish in two months:

«It’s a living example of the implementation of all the Engines of the Economy and the 7 Transformations Plan (7T) (…) the invitation is to invest,» he said, adding that in La Guaira they have nine projects that contribute to food sovereignty and are part of the Export Engine.

Finally, he indicated that through a new relationship model, private entrepreneurs, the State, and the People’s Power of the Fishermen have managed to establish a stable fish price agreement in the state for the entire year.
