“The UN is an organization that tends to disappear due to its own transformation, and it is an enforcer (of the Government) of the United States and the world’s empires; that is the pure truth,” said Diosdado Cabello, Vice President for Politics, Citizen Security, and Peace, from the Simón Bolívar International Airport in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, in response to the inaction of international organizations in the face of the kidnapping of more than 250 migrants at the Terrorism Confinement Center (CECOT) in El Salvador.
Cabello referred to the silence of the human rights institutions within the United Nations system and to the supervision made by a US Congressional delegation to the CECOT in El Salvador, where the Venezuelan migrants are being held.
At the same time, he stated that «nothing should be expected from these people, who are US political activists, who are supposedly go to supervise and perhaps went to ensure the detention of the migrants. Let’s not expect there would be a correction. Let’s not expect anything from the UN, which has ceased to exist as an organization that could exercise control in some countries. That doesn’t exist!»
Finally, the sectoral vice president specified that the Bolivarian nation will continue its struggle alongside the free peoples of the world, and continue denouncing the kidnapping of Venezuelan citizens in El Salvador: «We will continue until every single Venezuelan is returned to their land, where it belongs.»
