Vuelta a la Patria Plan flight arrives with 226 Venezuelan migrants

A new group of 226 Venezuelans repatriated from the United States arrived this Wednesday at the Simón Bolívar International Airport, located in Maiquetía, La Guaira state, as part of the Vuelta a la Patria (Return to the Homeland) Plan. The passengers included 7 children, 37 women, and 182 men, who were received by Diosdado Cabello, the Vice President for Political Sovereignty, Security, and Peace.

He recalled that the Vuelta a la Patria Plan “represents an effort by the revolutionary government to bring Venezuelans back wherever they are.» He also noted that the initiative has completed 4,157 flights since 2019 to ensure the repatriation of all Venezuelan migrants abroad.

On the other hand, Cabello indicated that the Bolivarian Government insists before the international community its statement regarding «the group of Venezuelans who are in El Salvador in a concentration camp, kidnapped by the US government and the government of El Salvador. They are being held in a concentration camp where they violate the human rights of Venezuelans, without having committed a crime in El Salvador.»

Finally, he described the United Nations (UN)’s terse statement on these attacks against migrants as odd. «What a difference when they address issues related to Venezuela (…) they immediately point the finger at us for anything,» he said.

«This is a public, well-known, and media-related fact, a group of more than 250 kidnapped Venezuelans, and I say 250 because they have continued sending people there,» he noted.
