In an act resonating with commitment and revolutionary determination, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, announced during his «Con Maduro+» program the activation of a new Russian company dedicated to the production of insulin in Venezuela.
This agreement represents a milestone in the fight for the country’s health sovereignty, confronting with dignity the imperialist blockade that has tried to overthrow our nation.
This innovative project focuses on an advanced company based in St. Petersburg, whose collaboration is strengthened with the signing of a cooperation agreement between both nations:
«We are establishing an alliance with a powerful and highly advanced Russian company from a technological and humanitarian perspective,» stated President Maduro, underscoring the importance of this partnership in guaranteeing the supply of insulin at a critical time for public health.
Overcoming the Blockade:
President Maduro explained the reality facing Venezuelans, highlighting how “the American empire blocked all medicines in the world, including insulin.”
However, despite the adversities, the nation has managed to receive insulin doses thanks to cooperation with Russia, and today a monumental step is being taken by establishing local production of this vital medicine.
A Revolutionary Commitment to the Health of Our People:
Looking towards the future, the President also recalled how, at the end of the COVID-19 pandemic, attempts by the United States and European governments to offer vaccines, which were questioned due to their side effects, were firmly rejected.
“I told them: We don’t want it. Fortunately, you blocked us, and we broke the blockade,” stated President Maduro, emphasizing that this resistance has allowed Venezuela to vaccinate 100% of its population free of charge and efficiently.
