The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, called for the active participation of the people in the second National Popular Consultation scheduled for April 27.
During the 76th edition of his «Con Maduro +” program, he highlighted the importance of this democratic event, which will allow the 5,338 Communal Circuits to exercise their right to decide on the financing of priority projects for their communities.
Free Vote for Community Decisions:
President Maduro emphasized: «On April 27, we have the second Consultation so that the 5,338 Communal Circuits can vote freely and choose the projects that will be financed by the national budget.»
This process is a testament to the revolutionary commitment to building a country where the voice of the people is the highest authority in decision-making.
An organized and accessible process:
The Minister for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado, provided details about the logistics of this referendum: «We will have the process from 8:00 a.m. until there are no more people waiting in the lines,» he announced.
He also assured that, together with the National Electoral Council, the necessary ballots will be deployed so that each Communal Circuit can effectively participate in this exercise of direct democracy.
Extensive electoral infrastructure:
Prado added: «We will be at 7,438 polling stations in 5,718 polling stations in the 5,338 Communal Circuits across the country.» This deployment demonstrates the government’s organizational capacity to ensure that every voice is heard and that every vote counts.
Prioritizing community projects:
The minister also emphasized: «To date, we have funded, through the National Government, more than 14,000 projects, and this time we are adding 5,338 new projects.» This commitment reflects the ongoing effort to invest in the needs of each community, thus strengthening the social fabric and promoting local development.
Meanwhile, the President stated: «It is important, because the people votes and decides.»
The methodology of the 7 Transformations Plan will be applied in this consultation, where each Communal Assembly will be able to nominate seven projects they consider priority: «The important thing is that the projects are proposed by the community and that the people vote for the one they believe is most necessary,» he emphasized.
Success Stories in the Communes:
Minister Ángel Prado concluded: «Go to any commune in the country and you will find stories from people who have already implemented three projects and are preparing for this new project, which will be chosen in the consultation.»
This highlights the positive impact of community participation and the implementation of projects that truly address the needs of the population.
