This Wednesday, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, shared a message at the 9th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC), in a virtual format, to reaffirm his conviction and unwavering belief in the power of this unionist bloc, for the benefit of the entire region.
Regarding the international meeting that takes place in Tegucigalpa, the capital of Honduras, the President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro Moros, described this meeting as very important, given the current times and new challenges that the nations that make up this integration mechanism must face:
«The unity of our peoples is an obligation and must be built on the heritage we have contributed and accumulated in proposals,» emphasized President Maduro.
He mentioned that while unity in diversity was possible thanks to the great dialogue generated between the different currents and opinions, today the offensive that has been launched against the entire world demands the peoples of Latin America and the Caribbean to consider a collective awakening of the conscience of the peoples and governments that defend and cherish their sovereignty and self-determination.
«We have a deep love for the dream of a future in freedom, with sovereignty and independence, with prosperity, earned and worked for by our peoples in the fruitful union of our region,» emphasized the head of state, referring to the strength and fruitful unity that maintains the momentum of the powerful Community of Latin American and Caribbean States (CELAC).
The national leader highlighted the legacy of fruitful unity, championed by the first generation of liberators who built the nation, such as Bolívar, Sucre, San Martín, José Gervasio Artigas, Francisco Morazán, Morelos, and so many others, Manuelita Sáenz, Bartolina Siso, and Luisa Cáceres de Arismendi, who were men and women of the virtuous generation of 200 years ago, and who left behind a vision, a legacy, and a mission to fulfill.
Today, Latin America is a space of convergence for peace, as it is the call of Liberator Simón Bolívar, based on the idea of regional unity, which goes beyond the focus of a single president, but rather a region distinguished by the absence of armed violence between nations, establishing itself as one of the zones of peace with great natural resources and much potential to offer in the future.
