Minister Padrino claims the US is «shooting tariffs all over the world» due to a «drunkenness of power»

Minister for Defense Vladimir Padrino López qualified the actions taken by the Donald Trump administration against Venezuelan migrants and the sanctions it has implemented against Venezuela and other countries as a «vile and gross act of aggression»: «They are shooting tariffs all over the world» due to a «drunkenness of power.»

The senior official noted: «The US plutocracy is in aggressive mode. Right now, they are drunk with power and are shooting tariffs all over the world without looking at who they are targeting”. Padrino describes this as a «profound disrespect for trade laws» and warned that «free international trade is being erased from the map.»

As part of the events commemorating the bicentennial of the death of Colonel Leonardo de Infante, Padrino López asserted that Venezuela remains steadfast in its anti-imperialist struggle, «for full independence, from the grassroots and in perfect civic, military, and police unity.»

He described the actions taken against the Venezuelan nationality as unjust and «segregationist, seeking to commodify migrants and send them to concentration camps,» alluding to the mass imprisonment of compatriots in El Salvador.

He warned of the danger of the lack of response from international institutions to human rights violations: «It seems they don’t exist in the world,» and added that «we are traveling down dangerous paths, at the international level.»

He urged people to be vigilant from a geopolitical perspective regarding everything that is happening in the world, including «the profound disrespect for laws and free trade,» claiming that Americans are «drunk with power» and «shooting tariffs at everyone.»

«The US plutocracy is resuscitating in aggressive mode right now,» he warned.
