Venezuelan migrants were coerced into signing «linking» with Tren de Aragua

Leaked court documents revealed that the United States (US) government coerced the group of 238 kidnapped Venezuelan migrants, who were transferred to a maximum-security prison in El Salvador, into signing a statement identifying themselves as members of the defunct Tren de Aragua (Aragua Train) criminal gang.

American investigative journalist Jason Paladino shared part of the testimony of a group of women, one Central American and the rest Venezuelan, who were traveling to the Terrorism Confinement Center (Cecot) in El Salvador, a maximum-security prison. This represents yet another arbitrary violation of the human rights of the migrants transferred to a male facility:

«While on the plane, government officials asked the men to sign a document, but they refused. They pressured them to sign the documents and threatened them. I heard them talking about the documents and the men’s admission of being members of the Tren de Aragua,» reads the text.

Last Saturday, March 15, a group of Venezuelan migrants were kidnapped and abused by the United States government, who transported them to El Salvador, where they are being held in maximum security prisons without undergoing any prior trial.
