President held meeting with the Electoral Commission for the Election of Justices of the Peace

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, held a meeting with the Electoral Commission for the Election of Justices of the Peace, from the facilities of the “Aquiles Nazoa” Cultural House, 11 days away from this process that is established from the bases.

Regarding the form and organization of justice in the territories, the Head of State highlighted during the installation of the National Electoral Commission, on November 20: «We are paying a historical debt of twenty-five years and we are going to the election of justices of the peace.»

The Vice Presidents for Political Sovereignty, Security and Peace, G/J Vladimir Padrino López; for Public Works and Services, M/G Jorge Márquez; for Citizen Security and Peace, Captain Diosdado Cabello; for Social and Territorial Socialism, Héctor Rodríguez; for Planning, Ricardo Menéndez; for Communication, Culture and Tourism, Freddy Ñáñez; and for Science, Technology, Education and Health, Gabriela Jiménez.

Were also present the president of the National Assembly, deputy Jorge Rodríguez; the Head of Government of the Capital District, Nahúm Fernández; and the Minister of People’s Power for Communes and Social Movements, Ángel Prado.

Earlier, deputy Jorge Rodríguez, detailed that more than 52,000 people have applied to participate in the next elections of Judges of the Peace.

During his speech, he explained the schedule planned for the election of the Judges of the Peace.

In this sense, he reported that this December 4th begins the electoral campaign of all the candidates for universal, direct and secret vote, as established by the Constitution of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela.
