President Nicolás Maduro instructs to consolidate the massification of sports

The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, emphasized that in the medium term it is necessary to consolidate the popularization of Venezuelan sports, with the highest possible quality.

During the welcome and decoration ceremony for the athletes who participated in the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games, the head of state asked to resume and strengthen the national, student and university games, at all levels.

He recalled that the sports powers in the world have in universities the base of high-competition athletes.

With the example that you give, in the achievements that you bring to Venezuela, you can count on all the integral support of the Venezuelan State to continue developing for the next competitions at all levels,” he proudly told the athletes.

Along these lines, he instructed the Minister for Sports, Arnaldo Sánchez, to continue developing social, economic and integral care for high-level athletes and coaches:

We must increase the scholarships for coaches” and he insisted on the idea of ​​recovering all the country’s sports facilities for athletes and para-athletes.

The Venezuelan President confirmed that this year the national games will take place from November 8 to 24; and the para-national games from December 1 to 8: “In the east of the country, Anzoátegui, Sucre and Monagas states will be the venue for the national and para-national games,” he said.
