Extremist opposition suffers setback in polls war

The strategy of the extremist sector of the Venezuelan opposition that seeks to manipulate the perception of the electorate with polls that show its candidate, Edmundo González, as the winner, loses its effect when it is revealed in its own polls that the candidate of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the Great Patriotic Pole, Nicolás Maduro, emerges as the winner.

This Sunday it became known that the survey promoted by the La Patilla digital media, on the X social network, with the question: “Would the elections be held this Sunday, who would you vote for?”, published with a post posted in its thread and which had the participation of 95,050 users, gave Nicolás Maduro as the winner with 72% of the votes. votes, while Edmundo González obtained 26%.

Given the unfavorable result for this opposition sector, the news portal deleted the post, however, a screenshot with the data has been spread on social networks and has generated ridicule from users.

The Minister of People’s Power for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, shared a message on the X social network in which he showed that the post was deleted “in the face of the public failure” of this consultation, as he noted.

The minister also referred to another query, made by journalist Eugenio Martínez on the same X social network, through a poll held on July 14, in which the majority of users gave 99% of their votes to Maduro.

It is worth noting that, also, the general coordinator of the Venezuela Nuestra Campaign Command, Jorge Rodríguez, revealed on Friday the conclusions of the Datanalisis polling company regarding a survey carried out at the request of the opposition sector that supports Edmundo González, whose result is that Maduro wins the presidential election.

Rodríguez presented several surveys in which Maduro is projected to be the winner, he also referred to the result of a survey carried out in the US by the Polymarket market platform, based on decentralized predictions where users place bets on world events, which also gives Maduro as winner with 70% of the votes.

Likewise, he denounced that the transnational CNN communications company is orchestrating a media plan along with the Democratic Unity Platform (PUD) that will disown the results announced by the National Electoral Council on Sunday, July 28.

Private and foreign media have spread these surveys, to which some specialists attribute a structural problem in their statistical sample, while dismissing other surveys such as those by Hinterlaces, ICS, Dataviva and Ideadatos, which give Maduro as the winner and clearly present his technical sheet in which they explain the type of sampling, sample size, confidence level and margin of error.
