The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, led the events on the occasion of National Police Day that took place on the Paseo Los Próceres (The Heroes’s Stroll) in Caracas, this Tuesday.
The head of state was accompanied by authorities in security matters, before whom a parade was made to show members of this sector and the occasion was also conducive to carrying out the graduation ceremony, promotions and decorations of the Bolivarian National Police Corps.
Since 1944, the National Police Day has been commemorated in Venezuela every July 16, in recognition of the work in safeguarding citizen security and prevention carried out by uniformed officers, for which the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, congratulated to the men and women who serve the country, as reports the national media.
The Venezuelan president assured that “the country broke with the imperialist doctrine” that formed state security officials as repressive, anti-national subjects who despised the people.
“Our Commander, Hugo Chávez, designed a new doctrine based on national values so that the police could provide a public service for the protection, security and training of new generations,” said the head of state.
In that sense, he reiterated that Venezuela designs a citizen security system, through the National Experimental University of Security (UNES): “UNES has the highest scientific, academic and moral level so that they can be trained throughout the entire trajectory of their police career,” he said.
The Venezuelan president urged the new group of police officers to be trained, comprehensively, so that Venezuela has the best professionals it requires throughout its territory: “What a pride it is to have the baton of command of the PNB, because it is in safe hands, not in the power of any traitor,” he said.
