The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, inaugurated the Alfredo Machado Popular Clinic, for the benefit of the Catia La Mar parish, in La Guaira state. This medical unit will serve approximately 105 thousand inhabitants distributed among 26,000 families in the town. The national Executive was attended by the Minister of People’s Power for Health, Magaly Gutiérrez.
The medical center has 17 service areas, including pediatrics, pulmonology, psychology, psychiatry, gastroenterology, hemodialysis unit, among others; which are intended to serve 6,665 patients on average per month. The renal treatment unit houses 10 hemodialysis machines, as well as a procedure room for arteriovenous fistulas and vascular abscesses.
“No one will privatize the right to health, which we are building with love, and the people knows it,” declared the head of state. Likewise, President Maduro took advantage of the occasion to celebrate the signing of the canonization of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández by Pope Francis: “It doesn’t matter that they conspire against him, he is already a saint,” said President Maduro.
On the other hand, the national leader announced a series of loans for residents of La Guaira, including 735 financings from Great Mission Venezuela Joven, 725 for entrepreneurs through Credimujer, and 140 to beneficiaries of the Banco de Venezuela.
