The president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced this Monday that supporters of the Vente Venezuela party intended to attack him during the march that, earlier, accompanied him to register his candidacy for the elections on July 28:
“Today were captured here two men with weapons who intended to attack me. They have already declared that they are part of the far-right, fascist Vente Venezuela party, they are convicted and confessed and they were captured as infiltrators here in the march,” he reported during his meeting with the people in the Diego Ibarra square, located in downtown Caracas.
Previously, the Head of Government of Caracas and Vice President for Mobilization and Events of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV), Nahúm Fernández, stated that at least three men were captured for attempting violent actions in the mobilization that supports registration with the CNE, of the candidate of the Homeland, Nicolás Maduro:
“I want to denounce to the media, to the international media that accompany us, we want to make public knowledge and denounce that we have just arrested three individuals, who at this moment were planning to create conditions to commit violence,” stated Fernández.
On repeated occasions, the National President has called on Venezuelans to remain alert to the plans that maintain “the surnames” and the imperialism that seeks to fill the streets with violence, applying the terrorist method of the guarimbas (riots).
Last week, Maduro warned about the plans of the fugitive from Venezuelan justice, Leopoldo López, to attack Venezuela.
Likewise, he has ratified the call for peace, before, during and after the elections on July 28.
Since May 2023, to date, the Attorney General’s Office, headed by Tarek William Saab, reported that five conspiracies have been registered with the aim of violating the peace of Venezuela.
