President Nicolás Maduro condemns terrorist attack in Moscow

By extending his words of solidarity to the people of the Russian Federation, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, strongly condemned the terrorist attack perpetrated this Friday against civilians in the Crocus City Hall exhibition hall, located in the city of Moscow.

Through a message broadcast on his @NicolasMaduro account on the X social network, he also conveyed his condolences to family and friends of the fatal victims, while reiterating Venezuela’s firm position “in rejection of any act of violence that affects the peace of the peoples of the world”

“From Venezuela we express our support for President Vladimir Putin, and raise our voices to categorically reject any act of violence that affects the peace of the peoples of the world,” he said.

On behalf of the people of Venezuela, the Head of State, who described the armed attack that occurred in Moscow as “atrocious,” pointed out that “peace is the only path and destiny of humanity”:

(…) We reiterate our commitment to the fight against any form of violence, terrorism, intolerance and hate speech promoted with increasing intensity in different scenarios,” adds a statement published – earlier – by the Chancellory of the Republic.

This Friday, a group of armed men fired on the crowd gathered in the Crocus City Hall exhibition hall, leaving 40 dead and a hundred injured, as reports the Russian state News agency, RT.

The Russian authorities have classified the event that occurred west of Moscow as a “terrorist attack.” Precisely, Mayor Sergei Sobyanin noted that “a terrible tragedy has occurred,” which is why he instructed “to provide all necessary help to all those who suffered during the incident.”

Meanwhile, the governor of the province, Andréi Vorobiov, explained that the Special Rapid Response Squadron is working on rescue efforts on the ground:

There are more than 70 ambulances near Crocus, doctors are providing the necessary assistance to all the injured,” he noted.
