President Maduro meets with Chancellor of Türkiye at Miraflores

The premises of cooperation, solidarity and mutual growth are once again exalted by the governments of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela and Türkiye, with the meeting held this Friday by President Nicolás Maduro and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the transcontinental country, Hakan Fidan.

The meeting that took place at Miraflores Palace, in the city of Caracas, corroborates the intention of both nations to address issues of bilateral interest, for the sake of joint benefit.

The two nations maintain good relations, an alliance that is ratified by the Venezuelan head of state and his Turkish counterpart, Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, by agreeing on the decision to expand cooperation, developed through more than 40 agreements in different areas.

This year the bilateral agenda with the sisterly nation has been characterized by its dynamism, since the Venezuelan President also met in January 2024 with the Minister for Energy and Natural Resources of Türkiye, Alparslan Bayraktar.

The diplomatic relations of both nations date back to 1957, however, it was in 2009 when they acquired a high-level character through the Joint Cooperation Commission established between the two countries.

This meeting is attended by the Turkish delegation, the Türkiye ambassador to Venezuela, Naci Aydan Karamanoglu; the minister’s special advisor, ambassador Sadik Arslan; the general director of Bilateral Political Affairs, ambassador Yaprak Balkan; and the general director of Foreign Policy, Analysis and Coordination, Esra Toplu.
