This Wednesday, the president of the National Electoral Council (CNE), Elvis Amoroso, stated that with the transmission of 99.89% of the votes counted and 51.01% of the electoral roll, participation in the consultative referendum on Essequibo was 10,555,092 voters.
Amoroso detailed the answers obtained in each of the questions, as indicated below:
1.- “Do you agree to reject by all means in accordance with the law the line fraudulently imposed by the Paris Arbitration Award of 1899 that seeks to deprive us of our Guayana Esequiba?”
Yes: 10,315,445 votes – 98%
No: 210,329 votes – 2%
Valid votes: 10,525,814
Null votes: 29,278
2.- “Do you support the 1966 Geneva Agreement as the only valid legal instrument to reach a practical and satisfactory solution for Venezuela and Guyana regarding the controversy over the territory of Guayana Esequiba?”
