Head of State announces a new era of growth for the 18 Productive Engines

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, on Productive Wednesday, announced the new era of growth of the 18 Productive Engines of the Venezuelan economy to generate goods, services and wealth.

In turn, the head of state called on all productive sectors for permanent agricultural, agro-industrial, fishing, food, goods and services production, which has had positive results for the economy, despite the coercive measures imposed. to Venezuela.

In this sense, the Minister of People’s Power for Agricultural Production and Land, Wilmar Castro Soteldo, announced the balance of the Global Productive Plan in the agri-food sector in Venezuela and highlighted that the advance of national production is 11,145, tons of food, of which 7,800,000 correspond to the vegetable sector and 3,342,000 to the animal sector.

Castro Soteldo highlighted that the rainy sowing cycle, in which cereals, such as rice, corn and sorghum, become relevant, it was possible to sow 514,299 hectares, with a yield of 4 to 4.5 tons per hectare, and with a projection of 2,314,000 tons of corn, which had not been achieved since 2012 and represents a growth of 17%.

Likewise, “67,000 hectares of rice were planted in 2022 in Guárico and Portuguesa; there was a growth of 24 to 27%, compared to 2021”, said Soteldo.

While coffee reached 223,000 hectares in Venezuela, between new crops and plantings. The figures increased from 15 quintals in the last five years to more than 25 quintals, said Soteldo.
