President Maduro: Thanks Venezuela for winning the battle against pessimism, lies and betrayal

During his New Year’s Eve message, President Nicolás Maduro thanked the people for believing in Venezuela, and “for winning the battle against pessimism, lies and betrayal”.

The address, broadcast last Friday from Miraflores Palace, in a special radio and TV broadcast, the Head of State acknowledged the individual and collective effort to overcome the most adverse conditions and culminate a 2021 that was the year of democratic institutionality and the consolidation of social peace:

“In the last hours of 2021 that remain I want to thank you people of Venezuela, thanks to you, compatriot, you that see me and listen to me, for believing in Venezuela, for believing in yourself, for winning the battle against pessimism, lies and betrayal” emphasized Maduro.

The national president offered a balance of the achievements made in the year that ends, among them in the health area, having reached 90% of people vaccinated against Covid 19:

“We have reached the goal of 90% vaccination, with a lot of sacrifice and also with great satisfaction, we were able to meet the Venezuelan people in caring for its health and life”, he announced.

In this sense, President Maduro reiterated that Venezuela is prepared to continue neutralizing and mitigating the impact of Coronavirus and the new variants that are appearing, because “we have a people who are aware, supportive, and with a Revolution that has passed severe trials in the last 21 months of global sanitary emergency”.

“The awareness of the Venezuelan people has been the great antidote against Covid-19, but also against the criminal blockade that in vain had persecuted every drug and every vaccine so that they would not reach Venezuela”, he said.

He added that next Monday will start the reinforcement vaccination plan for the entire population throughout the national territory, “with the favor of God and the help of Dr. José Gregorio Hernández, we will continue to be successful in this daily struggle for life”. He said.
