Venezuela condemns OAS aggression against Nicaragua

The President of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, denounced the attacks against Nicaragua made by the Organization of American States (OAS) and its Secretary General, Luis Almagro.

This Wednesday, December 8, 2021, through a resolution, they tried to declare the recent general elections held in Nicaragua as illegitimate:

“The founding letter of the OAS does not grant it any of the powers that they have tried to attribute unto themselves, much less to impose conditions on the State of Nicaragua to accept the cancellation of decisions made in defense of the popular will and peace in the country”, reads the Venezuelan statement.

Faced with this unprecedented and dangerous event in the history of International Relations, the OAS once again gives testimony of that it is an institution intervened by the United States, to persecute and disturb the peace and stability of the Governments that declare themselves as Independent.

Venezuela ratified the recognition of the electoral victory of Commander President Daniel Ortega, as an expression of the vote of millions of Nicaraguans.

It urges the countries of OurAmericas to condemn the interferencist practice, to promote relations, independence values, respect for sovereignty, ideological coexistence and regional integration.
