Venezuela speeds up bone marrow transplant plan

The President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, instructed to advance in a plan to accelerate bone marrow transplants in the country.

From the Hemato-Oncology and Radiosurgery complex “Dr. Domingo Luciani”, inaugurated this Tuesday, he reiterated the sensitivity of the issue of transplants in the country, as a result of the unilateral coercive measures and the blockade against the Venezuelan people, which is why he announced that Venezuela will accelerate actions in this regard:

It is one of the most important things that I have approved in recent days (…) bone marrow transplants, you already have this hospital, these laboratories for those Venezuelan men and women who are waiting for their operation, we are going to fully guarantee it, with all the treatment, with all the loving care, and thus retaking the issue of transplants that has been so affected by the criminal sanctions of North American imperialism”, he stressed.

It was known that from the medical care center there will be the capacity to create an international registry that will allow the place to be certified to respond to requests from patients around the world, who “will be able to come to Venezuela to undergo their bone marrow transplant”, as explained the president of the Venezuelan Institute of Social Security (IVSS), Dra. Magaly Gutiérrez.

In this sense, she added that the “Dr. Domingo Luciani” Hospital also has “the HLA laboratory that is part of these groups of clinical laboratories where it will be possible to study who are donors for bone marrow transplantation, both for the patient and for those who wish to donate”, explained Gutiérrez.
