President Maduro ratified achievements made by educational missions in times of pandemic

During his speech on the General Balance of Educational Missions, the President of the Republic, Nicolás Maduro, praised the success achieved in the public education sector through the Ribas, Robinson and Sucre Missions.

The national president stressed that, despite the Covid-19 pandemic, which is currently affecting much of the world, educational programs have managed to expand school enrollment rates, in addition to opening new opportunities for comprehensive studies, so the student body gets to be integrated into the labor field at the time they have completed their studies.

From the “Sol del Peru” Hall in Miraflores Palace, the Head of State, in the company of the Sectoral Vice President for Education, Aristóbulo Istúriz and the Minister of People’s Power for University Education, César Trompiz, announced the creation of new mentions for high school graduates, with specialties in gas and electricity, in water management, bachelor’s degree in health, bachelor’s degree in environmental and forestry management, bachelor’s degree in fishing and aquaculture through the Ribas Mission.

Regarding the Sucre Mission, the National Executive stressed that this national program has to date a record of 600,297 professionals, while stating that the goal is to reach one million graduates of this social program. He also stressed that 113,118 Venezuelans are enrolled through the “Every house a school” methodology.

In addition, he stressed that this mission currently has 21 programs of various training courses, as well as 32,000 scholarship holders, more than a thousand university villages and 55 educational environments throughout the country.

Finally, Maduro proposed the massification of higher education through the municipalization and parochialization of the university, leading the commune to this stage of training, creating nuclei focused on the professionalization of the people in the work centers.
