Head of State: I trust the people to raise the levels of prevention and protection against the Brazilian variant of coronavirus

This Thursday the president of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, Nicolás Maduro, called on the people to raise the levels of prevention and protection, with the aim of cutting the transmission chains of the Brazilian variant of coronavirus:

I trust the people to raise the levels of prevention and protection (…) To advance with treatments and vaccination. Remember: If I take care of myself, I am taking care of you, if you take care of yourself, you are taking care of me!” wrote the head of state through his official accounts on social networks.

It is worth mentioning that days ago the Minister of People’s Power for Science and Technology, Gabriela Jiménez, reported on the Brazilian variant of COVID-19 detected in the country, known as P.1.

Likewise, she reported that this new variant is 2.2 times more contagious than the original, an action that deserves more care and protection on the part of the Venezuelan people in order to avoid a massive spread.
