Commemorated 29 years of the 4F rebellion at the Mountain Barracks

In commemoration of the 29 years of the civic-military rebellion of February 4, 1992 (4F), an emotional central act was held in the Cuartel de la Montaña (Mountain Barracks), in the 23 de Enero parish in Caracas, in homage to the leader of the Bolivarian Revolution, Hugo Chávez.

One of the protagonists of this event, Diosdado Cabello, led the event, together with a military commission, State authorities and the commander’s relatives, to remember that rebellion that was led by Hugo Chávez, who along with other military officers rose up against the policies neo-liberals imposed on the people by the Adeco (belonging to the Acción Democrática rightwing party) government of the time, of the Punto Fijo political system, represented by President Carlos Andrés Pérez.

That day, Chávez publicly assumed responsibility for it, addressed the country through the media and declared the famous “for now.”

Upon the arrival at the barracks, Commander Chávez was honored at the Mausoleum where the revolutionary leader rests.

The act was attended by part of the combatant corps that participated in the civil-military rebellion of 29 years ago, as well as representatives of the military youth who then rose up against neo-liberalism.

The ceremony in tribute to the 4F and Chávez was enlivened by typical Criollo music and after the intonation of the National Anthem and the anthem of the Armored Battalion “Bravos de Apure” by the marching band of the Presidential Honor Guard. Father Omar Gómez, military chaplain of the Bolivarian National Militia, made an evocation at the ceremony, in which he highlighted the humanitarian value of Hugo Chávez and recalled what the rebellion was.

He paid special tribute to Commander Chávez’s message in his latest proclamation of unity, struggle, battle and victory, and to those who participated in the rebellion 29 years ago, he expressed: “Feel proud, fighters of the 4F, let’s keep on going forward. God is with Venezuela”.

One of the 4F fighters, José Gregorio Vielma Mora, made a historical account of what the rebellion and the revolutionary movement that led to it were, in addition to remembering the development of the Bolivarian Revolution once Nicolás Maduro assumed the presidency.

Captain Diosdado Cabello took the floor, at which point he honored the rebellious spirit that was formed in the midst of the repression of the Fourth Republic and in this he honored the sowing of Commander Chávez, who made history with his combatants, he stressed.

Together with that man, our commander Chávez, we have changed history. A history that we can tell ourselves, nobody else is going to tell it”, said Cabello.

Finally, together with relatives of Commander Chávez, a floral offering was placed in the mausoleum where the revolutionary leader rests.
