Chancellor Arreaza “The confessed objective of the sanctions is to make the economy collapse, generate pain, migration and death”

The Minister of People’s Power for Foreign Relations, Jorge Arreaza, pointed out this Sunday that behind the unilateral coercive measures of the United States (USA) against Venezuela is “the confessed objective of the sanctions to make the economy collapse, generate pain, migration and death”.

Through his account on the Twitter social network @jaarreaza, the Chancellor expressed that “whoever denies the criminal damage that the sanctions and the US blockade cause in Venezuela, can only be a fanatic denier.”

Likewise, in his publication he referred to an excerpt from the book “The Art of Sanctions” by Richard Nephew, a former adviser to the US government to attack Iran and a US expert on nuclear weapons and sanctions.

@jaarreaza

Anyone who denies the criminal damage that the sanctions and the US blockade cause in Venezuela can only be a fanatic denier. The avowed goal of the sanctions is to collapse the economy, generate pain, migration and death. During the pandemic they have hardened them.”

To develop a strategy to increase pain in a careful, methodical and efficient manner in the areas that are vulnerable, and at the same time avoiding those which are not. Is is prudential that those in charge of formulating policies define by themselves up to which grade are they willing to impose pain on their adversary and those who collaborate with it, in order to be able to prevail over the sanctioned State. Those in charge of formulating policies must know beforehand if they are willing or not to bring their adversary to the break, by sending its population to misery”
