COVID: Venezuela registers 480 new infections this Tuesday

268 days after the start of the pandemic in Venezuela, the Minister for Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, reported this Tuesday that during the last 24 hours the country registered 480 new infections by Covid-19, 354 of community transmission and 126 imported cases.

This was announced through the Twitter social network on his account @luchaalmada, where he explained that the community cases are distributed (by state) as follows: Mérida (158), Yaracuy (43), Capital District (37), Carabobo (32), Trujillo (31), Táchira (15), La Guaira (14 ), Miranda (7), Portuguesa (5), Anzoátegui (4), Amazonas (3), Lara (2), Bolívar (1), Zulia (1), Nueva Esparta (1).

In this sense, he reported that Mérida is the entity with the highest number of infections in 12 of its municipalities: Libertador (52), Campo Elías (41), Alberto Adriani (25), Rangel (9), Miranda (9), Rivas Dávila (8), Tovar (4), Sucre (4), Antonio Pinto Salinas (2), Santos Marquina (1), Padre Noguera (1), Cardenal Quintero (1).

Of the 126 imported cases: 32 come from Colombia, 24 from Spain, 22 from Turkey, 19 from the Dominican Republic, 16 from Curaçao and 13 from Panama.

Until today, there have been confirmed 105,384 cases, 100,476 people have been recovered, which represents 95% of infections. We have 3,980 active cases, 3,834 are being treated within the public health system, 26 in private clinics and 120 in home isolation,” said Ñáñez.

2,455 of the patients are asymptomatic, 1,269 with mild Acute Respiratory Failure, 219 with Moderate Acute Respiratory Failure and 37 in intensive care units.

He also added that unfortunately 4 new deaths are reported from this virus: A 89-year-old woman and a 61-year-old man from Lara state, a 59-year-old woman from Táchira state and a 87-year-old man from Zulia state. Condolences to their families and loved ones.

Finally, Freddy Ñáñez added that 2,455 of the patients are asymptomatic, 1,269 with mild Acute Respiratory Failure, 219 with Moderate Acute Respiratory Failure and 37 are in Intensive Care Units.
