President Maduro: the UN must account for the funds for fellow citizens

“Chancellor, ask the UN Secretary General what happened with the funds approved to support fellow nationals abroad,” instructed President Nicolás Maduro to the Venezuelan Chancellor, Jorge Arreaza, on Thursday.

The head of state assured that Venezuela will request a report from the United Nations (UN) on the funds approved to support nationals abroad.

“Where is the money that they approved to help the Venezuelans who were abroad?, because many of them have returned,” he said during a work journey of Mission Transport.

He assured that through the Vuelta a la Patria Plan (Return to the Homeland Plan) a lot of sacrifice has been made to serve the population, and assured that Venezuela is the only country that has returned people to their own country for free.

We have had to get money to pay for care, tickets and support for thousands of Venezuelans. We have spent millions of euros, it gets out of sight,” he said.

Maduro denounced that right-wing leaders committed to destabilizing the country have appropriated the resources.

Last October, the Bolivarian nation pointed out that the UNHCR reports on Venezuelan migration are manipulated by news agencies.

The Head of State assured that the Colombian president, Iván Duque, has stolen resources together with the coup-plotting extreme right-wing led by Juan Guaidó and the “G4RP”, who have stolen all the money destined to support Venezuelan migrants who are in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru and Chile.

The Vuelta a la Patria Plan is carried out through free flights of the Venezuelan Consortium of Aeronautical Industries and Air Services (Conviasa), and to date 20,748 people have been repatriated.

He recalled that Venezuela has had to withdraw money to pay for care, tickets, return and support for thousands of Venezuelans who have returned through Conviasa on free flights: “We have spent millions of euros, but we are not going to be stopped by anything, nor anyone,” he said.

There was a meeting with Trump:

During this Thursday’s speech, President Nicolás Maduro announced that Venezuela met with emissaries of US President Donald Trump.

He assured that Trump was sold the idea that Juan Guaidó was the great leader of Venezuela “and he failed,” assured the president.

The meeting was held in September this year, in Mexico City.
