COVID: Venezuela registered 311 new infections this Tuesday

This Tuesday the Presidential Commission for the Prevention of Covid-19 reported that 247 days after the pandemic in Venezuela, the country registered 311 new infections, 262 of community transmission and 49 imported cases.

This was announced through his social networks, by the Minister of Communication and Information, Freddy Ñáñez, who highlighted that the community cases are distributed as follows: Capital District 67, Miranda 48, Yaracuy 39, Carabobo 36, Táchira 16 , Falcón 15, Guárico 13, Cojedes 11, La Guaira 8, Zulia 3, Mérida 2, Lara 2, Aragua 1, Trujillo 1.

In this sense, Ñáñez said that the Capital District is the entity with the highest number of infections in the municipalities: El Valle (16), La Vega (9), Sucre (6), Coche (4), Macarao (4), Altagracia (3), El Paraíso (3), El Recreo (3), Caricuao (2), Santa Rosalía (2), San Juan (2, 23 de Enero (2), Santa Teresa (1), San Bernardino (1), San Agustín (1), Antímano (1), Catedral (1).

Of the 49 imported cases, 38 come from Colombia, 10 from Peru and 1 from Ecuador, all with entry through Táchira state. It should be noted that 9,497 of all international cases are coming from Colombia, which represents 89%.

According to the statistics of Coronavirus in Venezuela, until today 98,050 cases have been confirmed, 93,084 people have been recovered, which represents 95% of the infections. We have 4,108 active cases, 4,089 are being treated in the public health system and 19 in private clinics.

Ñáñez mourned the death of 3 Venezuelans: 1 40-year-old woman from Zulia state, 1 40-year-old man, also from Zulia state, and 1 82-year-old man from Falcón state. Sent condolences to their relatives and close ones.

The head of the Communications portfolio also reported that 2,258,273 tests have been carried out to date, which represents 75,276 tests per million inhabitants.
